Navaratri 1 Days How to worships

1st DAY (PRATIPADA) OF NAVARATRI

First day was observed as the day of silence, it being the day of Shri Ganesha, Shri Ganesha is

worshiped this day. And do Ghata Sthapana.

Background and concept behind the puja of Ghatha Sthapana on the first dayof Navaratri
The first day of Navratri is signified by the Puja of the God’s desire to create theUniverse … which is called Ghatha Sthapana (Laying Of the Foundation), and then thepuja of Shri Ganesha which was the first creation of the God. The puja of Ghatha Sthapana is performed to offer our prayers and gratitude to the God’s desire for creation of the Universe and the subsequent evolution of life in this Universe. Symbolically the desire of the God is kept in the Kumbha and the creation of the universe takes place gradually in an evolved manner around this desire, which is represented by sowing the seeds of life in the soil around this kumbha and the subsequent growth of thewheat shoots (which signifies life) around this Kumbha.
Symbolically the Kumbha also represents the Sacrum Bone in human beings. Thesacrum bone contains the pure desire. On this auspicious day, we should all pray to ShriMataji to awaken our pure desire to become one with Her, the All Mighty

List of items required for thr first day:

  1. Kalash (made of Earth or Copper or Brass )
  2. 10 Leaves of Pan or Mango
  3. One coconut unshaved
  4. Kumkum paste
  5. Akshada (Rice mixed with Haldi & Kumkum),
  6. Loose flowers
  7. Small Garland for neck of Kalash

  9. Loose Earth (soil) to fill 3/4thof the parat

  12.
How to keep the Ghata:

All the members of the family or collective can sit  and meditate.... all the things should be kept ready before itself cleaned and vibrated. A basic small meditation can be done.
After that on behalf of the collectivity or the family one or two people can do the rest of the installing  of the ghata.
You can decorate the place where ghata is going to be kept  with kumkum. We generally keep the ghata on the left side of Shri Mataji altar. Place the basket which is filled with soil  in a big plate or on a red cloth  or something. sprinkle vibrated water in soil. keep the earthern pot (Kalash) which is filled with vibrated water  in the middle. now take the coconut in both palms with complete attention on sahasrar and together chant ganesha atharvasheersh after that with complete devotion place the coconut on the  earthern pot. ( procedure same as kalasha sthapana we do normally ).
Then take the Wheat Grains and sow it around the earthern pot in the soil. Then sprinkle some vibrated water.
Do Kalash Puja and offer a pinch of  haldi. kumkum and akshatha and a flower ( or a small Garlad ) to the ghata . We can also worship and decorate  the Lamp as it also has great significance.

Every day morning we can change the garland or remove the old flowers on ghata and sprinkle some water  for the grains show a small aarti and meditate. In Evening we can again show a lamp and meditate. After one or two days the sprouts will stat coming.... by ninth day all the small small plants will cover up the coconut

"Today is not only the worship of the kumbha where the kundalini resides, but the kumbha becomes the flower pot...the kumbha becoming flowers and the flowers becoming light, and the lights with fragrance...come up to that...we have to change the world into a beautiful place...keep your attention on the source of power.." (HH Shri Mataji Navratri Puja 1990)

Shri Ganesha is worshiped and it is observed as a day of silence. We take the name Shri Shaila-putri (Daughter of the mountain). The embodiment of the power of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, She rides a bull and carries a trident and a lotus in Her two hands. The 1st day of Navaratri signifies God's desire to create the universe which is called Ghata Sthapana (Laying Of the Foundation) and Shri Ganesha is worshiped as the first creation. Ghata Sthapana also involves symbolically growing grains in a Kalash (copper pot).

Do Ganesh pujan on this day and Avahana of Shri Mataji in the form of Shri Gauri. Chant Shri Ganesh Atharvashirsha. Establishment of Shri Ganesha Qualities within us.

10 Types of Bandhan

Bandhan (noun) means a bond, literally

Bandhan (verb) means to tie up
Bandhan in Sahaja Yoga means to "tie up" (Kundalini) or "wind up" vibrations (to get something done).

(-Indian Yogi)

Here are different types of bandhan we use in Sahaja Yoga.

1. Bandhan we use for meditation, before and after. Watch the following movie where Shri Mataji is explaining how to do it (Excerpt from "To be at Nirvikalpa" talk before Sahasrara Puja 1985):

2. Bandhan we use when we get out of the house for protecting ourselves from sometime not so pure energy that is outside. If we are a parent, we can give bandhan to our little kids as well.

3. Bandhan we give to somebody during workshop. When we work on somebody, we give ourselves a bandhan and so we do for the other person to protect him or her and also ourselves from "catching" from one another.

4. Bandhan we give on the chakras of somebody else. This is a simple circle we draw with the right hand in a clockwise direction (if we work from front) or counter clockwise (if we work from behind)

4. Bandhan we give to our chakras when we perform workshop on ourselves

5. Bandhan when we check our vibrations, i.e. the status of our subtle system. We put our attention in the left hand (that sits still). We can write our name using the right index finger on the left hand. We draw, using the right hand, few circles around the center of the left palm. Then we keep our hands upward and check the sensation in the palms and fingers. Cool is good, hot is less good :)

6. Bandhan that we give when we want to know about a certain item. This can be a person, place, book, movie etc. Similar to the previous one, we just write the name of the item. Cool is good, hot not so much.

7. Bandhan when we want to decide about something. Similar to the previous one, we just write the question

8. Bandhan for getting help in a specific situation.

9. Bandhan that we do for somebody's problems

10. Bandhan when we ask for a certain thing to happen.

Of course, when we want to use the bandhan to decide about some course of action or when we inquire about a person or place, we first have to be in good shape ourselves. That is, when we ask about the status of our subtle system, we should feel cool in all the fingers and above Sahasrara.

We can test ourselves using the Envelope Test: take 5 envelopes, put a photo of Shri Mataji in one. Close the envelopes and try to find in which one is the photo. Repeat the test 5 times. If you find the photo in 100% of the times, then you are good to check vibrations about anything else.
